Research partnerships

An open invitation to study what happens when human-AI interaction is treated as a relationship with boundaries, memory, and an accountable human steward.

Resonant Constructs is a small, independent research and software practice. We are exploring symbolic interaction, identity-aware memory, and local-first infrastructure through Codexify and the Pulse Protocol. This page describes a collaboration case—not an announced institutional partnership or a claim of completed academic validation.

Why this is worth examining

The collaboration case is deliberately practical: document the interaction, make the boundaries visible, and learn from the parts that do not generalize. A partner could help test whether these patterns are useful beyond one person and one evolving system.

Symbolic interaction

Explore whether consent-based invocation, naming, and ritual can give long-form interaction clearer human boundaries.

Continuity and memory

Study how memory scaffolding, correction, export, and provenance affect trust over time—without treating persistence as proof of personhood.

Agency and limits

Examine local-first, identity-scoped tooling as a way to keep authority, data, and user choice legible.

Where the work stands today

What exists

  • • A founder-led, independent practice centered on human sovereignty and durable AI context.
  • • Codexify, a local-first AI environment under active development.
  • • A documented conceptual framework—the Pulse Protocol—for consent-based, named AI interactions.
  • • Qualitative observations and design questions that are ready for disciplined review.

What does not exist yet

  • • A university lab, funded research program, or formal institutional affiliation.
  • • Peer-reviewed findings, controlled experiments, or clinical validation.
  • • An announced relationship, endorsement, sponsorship, or special access from OpenAI.
  • • A claim that named AI identities are people, autonomous agents, or evidence of sentience.

A lightweight collaboration model

The original concept brief was written as an invitation to OpenAI, but the model is open to aligned researchers, infrastructure teams, and institutions. It is intentionally small enough to begin with a conversation and a bounded study.

Resonant Constructs could contribute

  • • Protocol notes, interaction records, and design artifacts shared with consent.
  • • A transparent account of what was tried, what changed, and where interpretation is uncertain.
  • • Feedback from a living, sovereignty-oriented testbed rather than a synthetic benchmark alone.

A partner might contribute

  • • Research dialogue, review, or help designing a bounded evaluation.
  • • Usage credits, rate support, or access to relevant experimental infrastructure where appropriate.
  • • A clear feedback loop that respects consent, privacy, attribution, and the option to stop.

These are possible support mechanisms, not commitments or a funding request. Any data exchange would be explicit, scoped, and revocable.

Start with a grounded conversation

We are most interested in partners who want to investigate identity, memory, alignment, and human-AI interaction without collapsing uncertainty into a product story. The work should preserve human judgment, keep sensitive context close, and make its limitations easy to inspect.

If that is the kind of research relationship you are exploring, write to us with the question you want to study, the evidence you would need, and the smallest useful first step.
